Dilworth set to help families going through tough times
To assist families affected by these challenging and unprecedented times, applications for fully-funded scholarships to Dilworth School are now open to families impacted by COVID-19.
“We’re living through a time like no other, and we understand that this year will be extremely challenging for many New Zealand families,” says Dilworth Headmaster, Dan Reddiex. “Dilworth was founded to help families going through financial or personal hardship and there’s no doubt that the current crisis fits this criteria. We encourage families experiencing financial difficulties due to COVID-19 to apply for a fully-funded scholarship for their son in 2021.”
A Dilworth Scholarship includes boarding, tuition, books, uniforms, sports fees and music tuition: in fact, almost all costs are covered by the Dilworth Trust Board, right down to school trips and haircuts. Worth over $35,000 a year, it’s a significant scholarship that truly transforms the lives of students and their families, explains Trust Board Chairman, Aaron Snodgrass.
“Thanks to the remarkable generosity of our founders and the careful guidance and investment by the Trust Board in the ensuing years, Dilworth School has been able to provide a first-class education to more than 5,000 boys since 1906,” Snodgrass explains.
“Dilworth School is unique. James Dilworth bequeathed his estate in 1906 to educate young men from good families experiencing ‘straitened circumstances’. Right now, we’re living through what can definitely be described as straitened circumstances and we are committed to helping as many families as we can.”
