A Dilworth Education

Supporting the development of the whole student is an integral part of the Dilworth experience. Students are offered a multitude of opportunities, a strong pastoral care system and quality teaching.

Dilworth has a comprehensive, modern, and unique curriculum made up of three distinct strands: the academic curriculum, Ako Puāwaitanga for student wellbeing, and a programme of Learning in the Outdoors - to develop emotional resilience and wider life skills.

Specifically designed and integrated to give students an extensive education and the best possible chance of succeeding in life, an enormous investment of time, work and resources has been put into in developing our wide-ranging curriculum.

We have three campuses in Auckland: the Junior Campus is home to our Year 7 and 8 students, Years 9 to 13 are located at the Senior Campus, and all students have the opportunity to attend our Mangatāwhiri Campus annually for learning in the outdoors experience.

Dilworth offers NCEA at Year 12 and 13, and the Dilworth Diploma at Year 11. Students in all year levels are challenged academically and supported extensively. Small class sizes, a bespoke curriculum and specialist teachers ensure students reach their academic potential. Dilworth’s NCEA results reflect this.

We employ exceptional teachers and have a variety of full-time subject specialists who teach across the Junior and Senior Campus. This means students get the best instruction in literacy, numeracy, the sciences and other subjects.

The school provides for gifted students by providing extension activities in their areas of specialty and there is also significant support for students who might be struggling in any area.

Christian Education

All students attend Christian Education lessons, with study areas varying between the campuses.
In Christian Education classes, young men develop an understanding of the teachings, beliefs, and values of the Christian faith. The opportunity to discuss and reflect on these is valuable in shaping students’ faith and character.

At the Junior Campus, Christian Education explores the big stories of the bible. Students learn about the characters, places, and events that shaped the Christian faith. Equipped with this knowledge, Dilworth’s young men are encouraged to consider what the Bible teaches about living a Christian life.

Christian Education at Senior Campus deepens biblical literacy by fostering understanding of central Christian beliefs and encourages students to make ethical decisions grounded in a Christian moral framework. Dilworth’s young men compare the Christian worldview with alternatives in the world today and study the impact of Christians living out their faith in action.
