As a parent, guardian or caregiver of a Dilworth School student, you are automatically a member of Dilworth Family Connect (DFC) and are welcome to be involved.
The DFC networks strengthen the support and friendship between Dilworth families, and between our families and the school.
We encourage you to attend DFC events and school activities to meet other people on the Dilworth journey. Dilworth life is different from other schools as there is no need for a PTA, instead everyone helps each other by sharing each others' experiences and answering questions.
Dilworth Family Connect covers a range of activities throughout the year, including:
Keep an eye on the school calendar, your email, our Facebook group page or boarding house noticeboards for details of upcoming DFC events. Please register your email if this is your preferred communication method here. Otherwise, as the primary caregiver, please ensure you have joined the Facebook Group. The DFC community receive a monthly email newsletter with helpful tips from other parents and caregivers.
DFC has evolved from 30 years of the Dilworth Friendship Club. Due to a generous annual donation from the Dilworth Trust Board, we can focus on supporting our community of families.
Become more involved with the school by joining DFC Friends and giving your time at events and activities.
The Friends group is at the heart of DFC. Like the boys developing their friendships and bonds, our families build strong bonds at school and beyond.
Give as much or as little time as you can. We know how busy families are, but if everyone can contribute a little, then the group can do more.
In the build-up to an event, we may ask for a little more help with setting up, packing up, serving food and drinks etc - we will send out a message to the DFC friends with a call our for helpers as needed.
A 10-strong committee of volunteers guides the management of the DFC. Committee members have sons who are at Dilworth or have recently attended.
Your DFC Committee for 2020 is:
If you are interested in joining the DFC committee, you must be a DFC friend who has attended and helped at events. We will be asking for expressions of interest during the year. This gives the interested parties time to attend a meeting or two, help out at an event or two, and get to know who is on the committee and how the committee functions before the AGM at the end of February. Voting will take place at the AGM.
