Learning doesn’t stop when the school day ends – boarding staff are available after hours, boys have extended access to specialist classrooms as well as school facilities and students are able to get involved in many varied activities after school.
The friendships made are strong and long-lasting. In the boarding houses students learn how to interact and get along with others, an important part of each boy's social development.

Boys are granted a leave of absence during many weekends of the school year. However the frequency varies between campuses to fit in with weekend activities and events.
From Year 9, students who attend Dilworth from areas outside of Auckland may be able to remain at school, fully supervised, during the weekend by prior arrangement.
