Former Dilworth Old Boy and Trustee Aaron Snodgrass has been appointed Chair of the Dilworth Trust Board at the Board’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) this week.

Aaron replaces Jon Wain who has resigned after 14 years on the Dilworth Trust Board, which included three years as Chair.

Aaron attended Dilworth from 1981 to 1989 and has been a Trustee since 2013. He was also a member of the Dilworth Old Boys’ Association (DOBA) Council and held the post of Treasurer from 1994 to 1999.

Aaron is currently Chief Financial Officer at Eastland Group. The Gisborne-based infrastructure company owns and operates the region’s electricity network and port, and manages Gisborne Airport. It also runs Eastland Generation, which produces electricity from predominantly hydro and geothermal plants. Eastland Group recently established New Zealand’s first community-focused new energy hub, Electric Village. He has previously lived and worked in New York City with PricewaterhouseCoopers and Deutsche Bank, returning to New Zealand in 2013.  Aaron is a Fellow Chartered Accountant who attended the University of Auckland and Harvard Business School. He is married to Courtney and has four children.

Prior to the AGM, Mr Wain advised that for family and career reasons he would not be standing again for the position of Chair and has resigned his position as Trustee.

The Trustees would like to acknowledge Jon and his wife Kay for their years of dedication and commitment to Dilworth, including the upheaval of their lives leaving Brisbane so Jon could take up the position of Chair in 2015. Prior to becoming a Trustee, Jon was a Council Member of DOBA for several years, three as President.

Jon has been working on a project relating to the history of the Trust Board, and the Trustees are pleased he will continue to complete this project.

The Board has wished Jon and Kay all the very best for their future, and know Jon will continue to be a loyal supporter of Dilworth.
