Trust Board farewells Hugh Fletcher, welcomes Frances Valintine
This week the Dilworth Trust Board farewelled Trustee Hugh Fletcher, who retired after more than 12 years’ on the Board.
Mr Fletcher, who joined the Board in 2007 following the retirement of Sir Wilson Whineray, is an experienced Director and Chairman of companies including IAG New Zealand Holdings Limited and Fletcher Brothers Limited. He is also a Trustee of organisations including the University of Auckland Foundation and the New Zealand Portrait Gallery.
Dilworth Trust Board Chairman Aaron Snodgrass says Mr Fletcher’s significant governance experience and acute business acumen has been invaluable to Dilworth.
“Hugh has the unique ability to cut to the heart of complex matters quickly. During his time on the Board, the assets of the Trust have grown significantly and he has been instrumental in that growth.
“Not only that, but Hugh has been a wonderful supporter of the students and the staff here that commit so much to helping the boys at Dilworth grow and achieve.
“I’ve felt privileged to sit around the Board table with Hugh over the last few years and on behalf of all Trustees, I would like to wish him all the very best for his retirement. We will certainly miss him,” Mr Snodgrass says.
With Mr Fletcher’s retirement, Frances Valintine joins the Board as a Trustee.
Ms Valintine, a leader and future thinker, is the founder of The Mind Lab and Tech Futures Lab. Ms Valintine serves as a Director on a number of boards including Callaghan Innovation.
“Frances is highly regarded throughout New Zealand for her innovative and inspirational leadership, particularly in the education and technology spaces. She has an impressive track record of transforming vision into tangible reality and we are excited to have her join the Dilworth Trust Board,” Mr Snodgrass says.
